A retrospective study analyzing 774 newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients treated with RVD induction found that 21.3% achieved long-term progression-free survival lasting ten years or more. Key factors favoring long-term remission included maintenance therapy, younger age, and favorable cytogenetics, though a meaningful risk of late relapse persisted beyond ten years.
